Come move with us in a beautiful, bright studio with a cozy atmosphere. We offer various classes in dance, yoga, body work, and conditioning welcoming students of all levels and interests. Class size is limited to ensure adequate space for full bodied movement, as well as individual attention from our teaching artists!

We want PAUL to be a loving, nurturing, safe space that invites exchange and growth. Therefore, we are now offering a modular class system, where each class focuses on a new theme each month. We invite participants to register for the full month, offering discounts for the module of 4 or 5 sessions (depending on classes per month). This system allows each course to delve deeper into the work, to build on from last week's experiences, and to work with a steady group. This way we get to know each other a bit as a group through a shared practice. At the same time, the instructor has a chance to gain a deeper understanding of how to support you best.

Each class will be a round practice of its own, within the frame of the month’s theme or focus, keeping each session different and fun, and offering progress at the same time.

Please register for our classes beforehand by clicking on the register button below each class.

*When coming to classes at PAUL please kindly park your bike on the street and not in our courtyard. THANK YOU!

In this modular class, we will interweave the ideas and practices of Yoga and Dance.

Starting with a well rounded Yoga sequence, designed to warm up the body and mind, and to tune into observing and moving them, we slowly make our way into movement and dance. We will use scores and exercises from various improvisation techniques to explore our individual way to move, to perceive the body, and what surrounds us. We will approach movement and dance in a playful, simple way, as a counterposition to our eagerness to do it all perfectly right. We use the philosophies of Yoga as a support to calm the mind and connect to the subtle body, as an offer to embody them both on the mat and in the space. To close each class, we return to our mats to cool down and seal the practice.
This class welcomes both people completely new to movement and dance as much as those with more experience. The Yoga practice focuses mainly on being present in body and moment, playing with a mix of hatha and vinyasa, and offering modifications to meet the individual practitioners. Movement and improvisation exercises are designed to animate and challenge every mover, respecting their level of experience, and daily state of mind and body.

Within each month’s module, we explore different aspects of  the Yoga practice. We deepen our understanding of healthy alignment that allows „sthira sukham asanam“, to rest with steady ease in our bodies. We look at the design and effects of different poses and sequences and learn to understand how to find the alignment best for our individual bodies and tune into more subtle layers. We interweave the physical work with aspects of Yogic philosophy and approach meditation as an accessible tool to look inward and beyond.
Each month we will set a theme to be approached from different angles, such as a certain body part, a group of poses, a part of Yogic philosophy. This allows us to observe our development and week to week differences, as how we arrive on the mat. At the same time, we keep the practice balanced, diverse and fun.

THIS CLASS IS IN SESSION!

This dance class researches an organic way of moving in space dynamically without stressing or straining the body, while utilizing each persons unique abillities. Beginning with basic movement exercises, getting into our bodies and feeling more than moving, pairing up and supporting each other,  we will warm up the body in a soft yet constructive way letting go of any stress held within. Then, we will move on to improvisation focused on a sensual approach to movement that encourages self-respect and uniqueness, in order to connect in a pleasing way with our bodies while progressing into more detailed and complex tasks. Choreography will follow, involving changes in dynamics and levels from floorwork to standing phrases, and interlacing improvisation. The goal here is to see each person dance their own body in space enjoying the act of movement while preserving their individuality. The hunt for technique is something that we will give importance to but not to the point that it will hold us back from going on in case something is not working. No dance should be danced if it's not enjoyed. We will end with words of admiration, soft stretching, partnering massage or smooth dance.

THIS CLASS HAS NOT YET RESUMED! Stay tuned for upcoming start date!

This dance class is an escape from reality through movement and images. Instincts, feelings, body memory, sensuality, silence, deceleration, acceptance, etc. are some of the words that describe this class. We will begin by awakening our bodies with gentle breath oriented movement, yoga/pilates based exercises, or improvisation tasks. We will work through a calm and joyful practice open to all energies in the room. Once we are warm and open for more, dancing will begin. Every dance will focus on very particular movement tasks, including: standing, getting to the floor and back up, elongating, expanding and shrinking, using weight, suspending, falling, and more. These tasks will be linked with an image that will layer the movement. This will not be necessarily a rule, a body has to move the way that it wants! And if it needs to move in a specific way that means that there has been an activation pouring with energy. That will be our goal along with clarifying each individual’s dance. We will end with words of admiration, a soft stretch or a smooth dance.
“I want you to move in the specific way that you feel closest to, and then polish it so that it doesn’t become the same again and again.. YOUR way of movement is what will make you different from all the rest..” - Yannis
